VIOLA (Viola Hutchinson) is an up-and-coming 19-year-old singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, she released a lovely debut single, entitled, “Lust at First Sight.”

VIOLA – “Lust at First Sight” single

“I won’t hang up. Do you quickly want to fall in love? You’re so right. Should we kiss and say goodbye for all of our lives? But you like mess. You’re also a dumb, LA kid. We like Eric Andre. Is this modern-day love? Or is it just lust at first sight?” – lyrics

‘Lust at First Sight’ tells an intriguing tale about a young woman who desires to spend quality time with a very special person in her life. Apparently, her new love interest likes jazz, smells like chamomile, and adores her lipstick. But she doesn’t know if what she’s feeling is love or lust. Stuck in this weird liminal space, she comes to the simple conclusion that her sensual thoughts are more wrong than right.

“Maybe you’re just the prescription I need.”

“You know that feeling when you first meet somebody and that feeling overcomes you? I wrote this song when I started college last year, and I had this feeling a few too many times. Lust? Love? Definitely lust.” – VIOLA stated

‘Lust at First Sight’ contains a relationship-based narrative, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of ROLE MODEL, Remi Wolf, Beabadoobee, and BENEE. Also, the vibey tune possesses jazzy instrumentation flavored with indie-pop and neo-soul elements. Furthermore, “Lust at First Sight” serves as a fantastic introduction of what listeners can expect to hear from VIOLA in the near future as she begins her claim to modern-day fame.

“Songwriting and drawing inspiration from my hometown of Los Angeles create this fusion of bright pop sound with contrasting, moody lyrics. I incorporate jazz influence into indie-pop sounds to create music that truly fits my story. Welcome to my world.” – VIOLA stated
